Protection for Holmdel cars
Holmdel garages hold a lot of cars worth protecting: new SUVs, weekend sports cars and the occasional car that only comes out for shows. Holmdel also sits between our two shops. Ocean Township is about 25 minutes away outside rush hour, and Millstone is a straight run west. Both do paint protection film, ceramic coating and window tint in house.
Paint protection film
If the car spends its week on the Parkway, Route 34 or Route 520, the front takes almost every chip. If it mostly stays home and comes out on good days, door dings and parking lot scuffs at places like Bell Works or a crowded show lot become the bigger risk.
Film is sold by coverage. Basic Front covers the front bumper, full hood, mirrors, headlights and fog lights, and is usually done within a day. Full Front adds the full front fenders, so no film edge cuts across them, and takes one to two days. Full Front Plus adds the A-pillars, the roof edge over the windshield and the rocker panels, also one to two days. Full Body covers every painted panel over two to three days.
Full Front covers the face of a daily driver without a line across the fenders, and Full Front Plus adds the rockers and pillars. For a car you plan to keep, Full Body earns its keep, because a single chip on a newer car means touch up or repaint, and a repaint is never quite factory paint. Film is cut for your car, wrapped around the edges wherever the panel allows and backed by a manufacturer warranty. We also install matte film.
Ceramic coating
Many Holmdel cars park under tall trees at the end of long driveways. Pollen in spring, sap in summer and leaves in the fall all land on the paint, and on bare clear coat they stick and stain. On a coated car they rinse away far more easily. The coating also brings out the gloss, and water beads and runs off before it can dry into spots. Gyeon coatings go on wheels and glass too, so brake dust and rain come off the same way.
A coating seals in whatever is under it, so every coating starts with a wash, decontamination and an inspection under strong light. Swirls and light scratches are polished out before the Gyeon coating goes on in a climate-controlled bay. That is why we sell paint correction together with a Level 1 or Level 2 coating, and why we show you what the paint needs before we start.
Window tint
Big SUVs get the most out of tint. Third row passengers and kids in car seats sit by large side windows for the whole drive, and ceramic film makes that space far more comfortable. It also cuts the heat that builds in a car parked in a sunny driveway or an office lot, and slows fading on light interiors. Curved sports car glass is shaped with heat before the film goes on, which is routine work in our bays.
We install LLumar ceramic film in 70, 50, 35, 20 and 5 percent shades. The number is how much light gets through, so 70 is nearly clear and 5 is very dark. Ceramic film has no metal in it, so phones, navigation and key fobs work normally, and it stays clear from the inside at night.
Doing it together
Many owners do all three at once: film on the panels that take chips, a Gyeon coating over the whole car including the film, and tint on the glass. Together that is The Beyond Package, and it means one visit and one drop off instead of three.

Is film worth it on a car that rarely leaves the garage?
For a car you plan to keep, yes. Garage cars still get chipped on the drives they do take, and they pick up scuffs at shows and in parking lots.
Can I take a coated car through an automatic wash?
Brushes and harsh chemicals wear a coating down faster. A gentle hand wash keeps it working longest, and our Gyeon Maintenance service can help keep it up.
